Today's Tsukudajima, Chuo-ku, Tokyo is a place where fishermen in Tsukudamura, an Osaka in the Edo period, moved to Edo and reclaimed a sandbar, and was named after its hometown Tsukudashima. Tsukudani is still famous for its simmered dishes made from seafood around Tsukudajima.
