?Aircraft carrier Akagi was completed at the Kure Arsenal in 1927.
Along with Kaga, it is the first Japanese aircraft carrier based on the Washington Convention.
The flight deck adopted a unique form of the Japanese Navy called a three-step type, the lower row was operated as a warship deck, the upper row was operated as a departure ship and a departure deck.
The middle row was not used as a flight deck for expansion of the bridge and installation of two 20 cm tandem turrets.
