The license plate of Kashiwa City in Chiba Prefecture features a design common to both Kashiwa City and Abiko City. The design depicts Teganuma Swamp, which connects Kashiwa and Abiko, the Teganuma Bridge over the swamp, and fireworks. Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, has adopted a design based on the motif of fireworks displays held in Nagaoka and neighboring areas. The fireworks shot up into the night sky are depicted in a variety of colors, giving the license plate a gorgeous impression. Next, Shimonoseki City in Yamaguchi Prefecture has adopted a design featuring Kanmon Bridge as the main motif, along with Kaikyo Yume Tower and Akama Shrine. An illustration of fugu (blowfish), which cannot be missed when thinking of Shimonoseki, is also included. The set comes in two types: one with the illustrations and even the numbers pre-printed and ready to use, and one with a pre-painted base to which the numbers can be attached using the included decals.
