1/72 Aircraft "Special Markings" Series Starts! 1/72 Scale Plastic Model(R) 1/72 Aircraft "Special Markings" Series JASDF F-15J Aggressor [No.904 Black/White] Referencing the warfare skill training unit established by the U.S. Air and Navy to simulate virtual enemy aircraft, the Air Self-Defense Force established the "Flight Instruction Corps" in 1981 to fulfill a similar role. It aims to improve the skills of fighter pilots. In 2016, the unit was moved to Komatsu Air Base and renamed the "Flight Instructor Group" to provide training to fighter squadrons and warning and control units of the JASDF. The F-15s have been used since 1990, but each aircraft has a different camouflage paint scheme to clearly identify friend and foe in simulated air battles, and they are popular among fans as aggressor aircraft. The [No. 904 Black/White] is a single-seat "J" type that was assigned in May 2007. It follows the dark gray and white color scheme of its predecessor, the 906, but the gray is now pure black. This aircraft's tenure was shorter than the others, and it dropped these two colors at the end of August 2008, leaving the unit shortly after.
