The AE86 Treno, introduced in May 1983, dared to adopt an FR layout at a time when FF was the norm, and the engine was changed from the 2T-G of the previous generation to the newly developed 4A-G. The AE86 and its sibling, the Levin, came in two body variations, a 3-door hatchback and a 2-door coupe, respectively. The model name changed depending on the engine, with the 4A-G model being the AE86 and the 1500cc 3A-U model being the AE85, and their popularity continues to this day. The retractable headlights, the most distinctive feature of the TRENO, can be opened and closed. Suspension is reproduced with springs.
