Aoshima 1/24 The Model Car No.17 Toyota AE86 Corolla Levin GT-APEX '85

The AE86 Levin, introduced in May 1983, dared to adopt an FR layout at a time when FF was the norm, and the engine was changed from the 2T-G of the previous generation to the newly developed 4A-G. The AE86 Levin and its sibling, the Treno, came in two body variations: a 3-door hatchback and a 2-door coupe. The model name changed depending on the engine installed, with the 4A-G model being classified as AE86 and the 1500cc 3A-U model as AE85, and their popularity continues to this day. The AE86 is based on the late model, and is equipped with Intra aluminum wheels, mud flaps, side steps, and rear spoiler, which were genuine optional parts at the time, to reproduce the royal road style of the Hachi Roku of yesteryear.
