Fine Molds 1/72 JASDF F-104J Fighter Aircraft Eikou

The F-104J fighter was selected as the successor to the F-86F, which had supported the Japan Air Self-Defense Force during its founding period. Equipped with a powerful engine in a small, lightweight airframe, it boasted high stability even in supersonic flight exceeding Mach 2. Its performance earned it the title of “the last manned fighter.” Primarily produced domestically, a total of 210 aircraft were deployed, including imported units. It continued to shoulder Japan's air defense duties from the 1960s until the deployment of the F-15J in 1986. Within the Self-Defense Forces, it was affectionately known as “Eik?” (Glory), but today the nickname “Maruyon” is more common. This kit features a completely new design using new molds for 2025. Like the real aircraft, the rear fuselage is removable, allowing display with the engine section exposed. The fuselage is divided along panel lines, while the rear section is molded as a single piece, pursuing a structure that achieves a beautiful finish without stress lines.
