During the Vietnam War, the United States suffered heavy losses and was plagued by Soviet-made surface-to-air missiles (SAMs) and anti-aircraft artillery (AAA). As a result, the development of anti-radar attack aircraft and missiles began relatively early on. The objective of anti-radar attacks is to detect the radio waves emitted by enemy air defense search radars and fire control radars, destroy their sources, and neutralize enemy air defense facilities. These aircraft, tasked with Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) through anti-radar attacks, came to be nicknamed “Wild Weasels.” Starting in 1975, 134 existing F-4E aircraft were modified into F-4G “Wild Weasel V” variants, and they were deployed not only in the U.S. mainland but also in Europe and the Western Pacific during the Cold War. During the 1990?91 Gulf War, the F-4G carried out SEAD missions against the Iraqi air defense network, marking the final chapter in the F-4 series’ military service. This kit features a new mold that reinforces the main wing structure on the underside of the fuselage, and precisely reproduces the sensor bulge under the nose radome, vertical stabilizer, rear panel, and instrument panel. The kit includes decals for two aircraft from the 35th Tactical Fighter Wing (35TFW) in Hill Gray camouflage, as well as two aircraft from the 52nd Fighter Wing that were deployed to Germany. Series Name 1/72 Scale Jet Aircraft
