Plastic Model Scale] 1/72 The Air Self-Defense Force's F-2 jet fighter, developed jointly by the United States and Japan as a support fighter with the main purpose of anti-ship and close air-to-ground support, first flew in 1995 and was deployed to units from 2000. Of the 94 aircraft produced and deployed, 62 were the single-seat F-2A and 32 were the demountable F-2B. The F-2B replaced the T-2, the advanced training version of the F-1 support fighter, in the fighter pilot training process (F-2) and is used to train fighter pilots. The 3rd, 6th, and 8th squadrons, which operate the F-2A, also deploy the F-2B for training within their units. Based on the F-2A kit released earlier, new parts for the F-2B, such as the top of the fuselage and the base of the vertical tail wing, have been produced. The included decals reproduce the aircraft belonging to the 3rd Squadron (Hyakuri Air Base), 6th Squadron (Tsukijo Air Base) and 21st Squadron (Matsushima Air Base).
