Plastic Aircraft Model Assembly Kit Japan Air Self-Defense Force F-15J Fighter "J-MSIP" (Modernized version) The F-15J is the main fighter of the Air Self-Defense Force, and as of 2023, there are approximately 200 F-15Js deployed in 9 squadrons across Japan. In addition to its excellent basic design, the F-15J is highly expandable, and its radar and other electronics and onboard equipment have been modernized under the Multi-Stage Improvement Program (MSIP) since 1983 in its home country of the United States. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force's F-15J has also been upgraded in stages as part of the "J-MSIP" modernization program, including Japan's own unique modifications, and even now, nearly 40 years after its introduction, the F-15J continues to perform air defense missions as Japan's main fighter aircraft. The "Hot Scramble 1984" kit reproduces the initial configuration of the F-15 in its early stages of deployment, while the modernized version is also included. The kit includes parts for the exhaust nozzles without the iris cover that the current F-15 is equipped with, as well as various antennas and other differences that are delicately detailed. Decals reproduce the 201st squadron (Chitose Air Base, Hokkaido), 204th squadron (Naha Air Base, Okinawa), and 306th squadron (Komatsu Air Base, Ishikawa).
