The Retsukyu, a prototype developed as a successor to the Zero fighter, failed to produce satisfactory results due to a lack of engine output, and by the summer of 1944, its development was in danger of being cancelled. Mitsubishi decided to replace it with its own engine, which it had insisted on from the beginning of development. Flight tests conducted two months later confirmed a significant improvement in performance, and hopes were pinned on mass production. However, the deterioration of the war situation made it impossible to improve these test planes, and repeated air raids meant that the aircraft was far from being ready for mass production, and it ended the war as a “phantom fighter. The completed model is 249mm in length, 291mm in width, and has approximately 84 parts. Includes a figure of the pilot sitting in the cockpit. *Reproduction with price and package size change.
