[Completely new mold] (All Japan Model Hobby Show New Products) Part Number FZ01 1/48 scale plastic model (R) Imperial Japanese Navy Type Zero Fighter Type 52 (Mitsubishi, mid-term type) The “Zero-sen”, the most widely produced aircraft in Japanese aviation history and synonymous with the Great War, is now available in a completely new mold. The Zero was developed as a “shipboard fighter” to be operated on aircraft carriers by the Imperial Japanese Navy. From its appearance in the Sino-Japanese War to the early stages of the war, it demonstrated unparalleled strength and later became known as the “Zero-sen Myth”. After the first mass-produced model, the Type 11, was introduced, improvements were made one after another, and the Type 52 was the fifth type in general. It is characterized by its rounded wingtips, which were shaped from the shortened main wings of the Type 32 to improve speed. The Type 52 produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the developer of the aircraft, is further classified into early, middle, and late types. The middle type produced by Mitsubishi, which is being modeled here, was produced immediately after the change to a single thrust-operated exhaust pipe and before heat-resistant plates were installed on the fuselage where each exhaust pipe is located. The fuselage is not divided into left and right parts, which is the usual way in plastic model aircraft, but instead is largely divided into the front and rear fuselages, similar to the actual model, with the rear fuselage molded as one piece using a slide mold. The rear fuselage is molded in one piece using a slide mold. In addition, the canopy has separate parts for the glass and window frame, and other rare part divisions and assembly methods have been incorporated to create a new plastic model of the Zero fighter that is unique to the 2021 series and will increase the fun of building the model.
