The Zero was developed as a “shipboard fighter” to be operated on aircraft carriers by the Imperial Japanese Navy. From its appearance in the Sino-Japanese War to the early stages of the war, it demonstrated unparalleled strength and later became known as the “Zero-sen Myth”. After the first mass-produced model, the Type 11, was introduced, improvements were made one after another, and the Type 52 was the fifth type in general. It is characterized by its rounded wingtips, which were shaped from the shortened main wings of the Type 32 to improve speed. The Type 52 produced by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the developer of the aircraft, is further classified into early, middle, and late types. The middle type produced by Mitsubishi, which is being modeled here, was produced immediately after the change to a single thrust-operated exhaust pipe and before heat-resistant plates were installed on the fuselage where each exhaust pipe is located.
