The Type 52 “A” (also known as the Zero fighter Type 52 A) is a type of the Type 52 20mm machine gun with an increased number of rounds. The original Type 52's wing-mounted Type 99 20mm Type 2 gun Type 3 had a drum magazine with a capacity of 100 rounds of ammunition per gun.
For this reason, a trapezoidal cover was added to the base of the 20mm machine gun projection on the leading edge of the main wings. The original Type 52 had a teardrop-shaped bulge in the lower part of the wing to hold the drum magazine, but this bulge was eliminated in the Type 52A because the belt-loading system was changed to the belt-loading system. In addition, all Mitsubishi-made Type 52-K are equipped with a short heat-resistant plate at the outlet of the thrust-operated single exhaust pipe, which is a characteristic of Mitsubishi-made Type 52-K.
In this product, these differences have been painstakingly reproduced in a new mold. In particular, the Mitsubishi model equipped with a short heat-resistant plate is the first 1/48 scale Zero fighter plastic model to be produced in three dimensions. Markings are included with decals for the first 343rd and 221st aircraft. In particular, the aircraft belonging to the 343rd is an existing aircraft in the Hamamatsu Public Relations Center of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force.
