The Five Great Halls, which are also the symbol of Matsushima, were built by Maro Sakanoue Tamura in 807 in the early Heian period, and in 828, Jikaku Daishi built Matsushima Temple, the predecessor of Zuiganji Temple. It came to be called the Five Great Halls because it was enshrined.
The current Godaido was built in 1604 by Date Masamune, who ordered the master craftsman Tsuruemon family. You can even reproduce Matsushima.
The kit released in the 1970s is now available with a redesigned package.
