A 1/350 scale reproduction of the battleship Haruna with a large air defense command post at the top of the bridge! The battleship Haruna was built at the Kobe Kawasaki Shipyard as the third ship of the Kongo class. She was refitted twice before the Pacific War, and during the war she was used in a wide range of activities, from direct escort of carrier task forces to bombardment of enemy territory. After bombarding an airfield on Guadalcanal Island with Kongo in October 1942, and accompanying the task force in the Battle of Mariana, she was active with Yamato and Musashi in the Battle of Leyte in October 1944. After that, she returned to Japan and moored off Etajima/Oyoyo after the Kure air raid. In the air raid in July, she was attacked by a ship-borne plane and hit the bottom, and the war ended as it did. This product is based on the existing 1/350 scale Battleship Haruna mold. The product is modeled after the Shoichi Operation in October 1944. The main parts of the bridge are molded in gray color, which imitates the color of the Sasebo Naval Arsenal. The bridge window and searchlight are clear molded parts. A pedestal for display and a sticker with the ship's name are included. The model includes the top deck up to the top No. 21 electric probe and forward to the second turret connected to the shelter deck. Each level of the bridge is stacked and assembled in a style that includes the 3-leg props and the angle material in the rear. The shelter deck is delicately sculpted to represent the wooden deck. The exhaust ports and machine gun ammunition boxes on the wooden deck are separate parts, reducing the need for separate painting. The 25mm machine guns on the four sides of the bridge are 1/350 scale and consist of 4 parts for the double and triple guns, and the elevation angle can be adjusted. The four windows of the compass bridge, lower lookout post, battle bridge, and observation post are reproduced with clear parts. Each tier is sculpted with grating and linoleum hold-downs. Multiple rattles are provided to connect each level, all in separate parts. The main gun and 4.5 meter rangefinder can be fixed at any angle. Binocular telescope parts are provided for the rangefinder and air defense command center to increase detail. The rangefinder support structure angle on the rear of the bridge is sculpted with light holes and other detailed parts. Includes decals of the dazzle camouflage that was applied when the ship was berthed off the coast of Koyo in 1945. Molded parts consist of three colors: gray (Sasebo Naval Arsenal color), transparent and black base parts.
