Plastic Ship Model Assembly Kit 1/700 Special 107 IJN Light Cruiser Noshiro The second ship of the Agano class "Noshiro", built 20 years after the 5500t type light cruiser, is now available as a single ship set. The product is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting. The scale is 1/700 and it is a marine model not including the bottom part of the ship. The product uses conventional (special series) molds. The light cruiser "Noshiro" was built in September 1941, just before the war started, as the second ship of the Agano class, and was completed in June 1943, in the middle of the war. While other ships of the same type were built at the Sasebo Naval Arsenal, the Noshiro was built at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal. The previous class of the Agano type was the Kawauchi type, and there was an interval of 20 years between the Agano and the Kawauchi type, so the Agano became a ship with a modern aspect. With a standard displacement of 6,652 tons and an overall length of 172 meters, the larger ship was equipped with three 15 cm twin guns and two newly developed 8 cm long twin high-angle guns as main guns. Immediately after her completion, Noshiro became the flagship of the 2nd Mine Squadron and engaged in transport and escort operations in the Central Pacific. In June 1944, she participated in the Battle of Mariana. Before and after this battle, her armament was reinforced, including additional equipment such as machine guns and some electric radars. In October 1944, she accompanied the main forces of the Yamato and Musashi in Operation Sho Ichi I (Battle of Leyte). In an encounter with a U.S. escort carrier, she was hit by a direct hit and had to retreat, but was hit by lightning in an air attack and died in the battle. The product can reproduce the appearance at the time of the Battle of Leyte in October 1944, the final form. The figure is additionally equipped with a No. 21 electric search equipped from the time of completion, two No. 22 electric search, and No. 13 electric search. Equipped with 18 units of 25mm single armored machine gun, 10 units of 25mm machine gun with a gun seat installed in the stern. The Type 96 25mm machine gun (triple-armored and single armored) can be selected from two types of quality parts. The gun barrel and mount are separate parts for precision and easy painting. The base is molded in gray and the barrel in gunmetal, allowing for color separation without painting. The runners of the base and gun barrel are designed to be combined to fit in the adhesive position, and gate-cut after using pour-in adhesive. The three machine guns have separate bulletproof plates, allowing for even more precise construction. The other type is the conventional one-piece molded type. The shape of the modern Agano type, which is different from the trend of Japanese light cruisers up to that time, is reproduced in its entirety. The body of the ship is a left-right laminated type, and the detailed modeling of the port side is reproduced. The outer electrical lines that run around the entire perimeter of the port side are delicately sculpted, even the clasps are represented. The deck and bridge layers are sculpted to reproduce the linoleum fittings and the anti-slip and strip patterns of the steel deck. The bridge forward shelter is an integral part using a slide mold. The side walls are sculpted and shaped with precision. The main gun turret is a slide mold with windows, lattice and steel plate joints on the side and top surfaces. The chimney top grating is sculpted realistically in a loose state, and the internal rectification plate is also sculpted as a separate part. The chimney is laminated on both sides, and the monkey rattal is sculpted. Steam dumping pipes are separately sculpted as separate parts to show the difference from the sister ships. The triangular pyramidal truss at the bottom of the mast has been removed using a slide mold. The small cranes on both sides of the aft end of the aviation work deck are reproduced accurately and three-dimensionally as separate parts. The 4.5 meter high angle rangefinder has been accurately reproduced with its cylindrical arms and is included as a dedicated part. The No. 22 electric probe, port ladder (retracted), azimuth antenna, and auxiliary wing storage are all included as separate parts. The 8cm long anti-aircraft gun is included as a specially designed part with separate parts for the shield and barrel. The water reconnaissance crane has been reproduced up to the light hole on the side to increase the sense of precision. Two Type Zero (three-seater) water reconnaissance aircraft are included. Molding color is gray. Two types of decals are included. Two types of decals are included in the kit, one for the flag of the warship and the other for the Nissho flag. Three sizes are available for the flag of warships. Included are 1/700 scale versions of the actual 10-width, 6-width, and 3-width flags. Included are the sunburst and the identification band (yellow band) of the ship's aircraft, including the sunburst without the white border from the later stages of World War II. The decals include the draft, the chrysanthemum crest on the bow, and the name of the ship on the stern (in gold or filled-in warship colors). The Noshiro's distinctive parts have been exclusively designed. The porthole has parts to reproduce the reduced porthole compared to the Agano. The sighting hand window on the front of the main gun turret is not enlarged, and parts for No.1 to No.3 ships are included. The shape of the air working deck, including the openings, is provided with special parts. The chimney and steam dumping pipe are dedicated parts to reproduce the differences between the individual ships. The anti-aircraft gun emplacement is shaped in an angular form, which is different from the Agano and Noshiro. The paravane next to the first turret and the air intake structure next to the torpedo tubes are exclusively prepared in square shape. The front of the Rashin bridge has no blue work compared to the Agano. Molded parts come in three colors: gray, transparent, and gun metallic, which mimic the Kure Arsenal colors. 200 parts to assemble.
