The newly designed Mogami, which became a heavy cruiser by converting its main gun, is re-released with additional common parts! The product is based on the motif from the beginning of the Pacific War to the Battle of Midway in June 1942. The cross-sectional shape of the ship is different from Suzutani / Kumano, the standard porthole at the beginning of the war is prepared with dedicated parts to the figure to be unclosed state. New mold to be able to unify the difference in reproduction of equipment, etc. by the time of product release, part of the division to consider the painting work is also subdivided into a total of 6 parts and 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai 1, the modeling resolution is up from the existing product 2 parts. The 9-meter cutter has been made in two parts to allow for painting, and a separate part is provided for the trestle, allowing for a choice between the deck integrated mold and a separate part. The 12-meter launch can be rendered without canvas. For the 11-meter inner launch, the canvas and wheelhouse/mechanical room canopy are separate parts for painting. Each part is painted and assembled and glued afterwards. The ship's trestle is molded with uneven shapes and light holes for a more precise modeling. Newly prepared chrysanthemum crest on the bow. Newly prepared port light and life buoys. The former is for the uniform size of each ship, and the latter is for additional expression of parts that were omitted. Added decals for the aft ship's name (in warship color) and the white line on the mast. The Type 96 25mm machine gun is now standardized as a two-part part that reduces painting/separation work. Ship Structure The body of the Mogami and Mikuma, which have a large spread angle of inclination of the port side at the middle deck level, is reproduced with dedicated parts. The porthole is unclosed, which is different from that of the aircraft cruiser Mogami. The outer electrical channel is molded into the body of the ship to represent individual differences, such as the difference in position near the stern and the higher position of the center of the channel. The width near the shelter deck is 1.0mm wider than Suzutani and Kumano. Bridge/Front mast The front mast is specially designed for the Mogami/Mikuma, and the height difference from Suzutani (slightly lower) is reproduced. The bridge and mast are reproduced with the characteristic torpedo launching and commanding equipment of the Type 92 at the beginning of the war. The bridge window is made of transparent parts for more realistic finish. The floor of the air defense command post and the bridge bridge of the Rashin are sculpted with delicate grating. Special parts are used to reproduce the air supply ports at the rear of the bridge and both port side can compartments, which exist only on the Mogami and Mikuma. Chimney/air supply ports/linoleum deck The air inlet on the deck is designed to reduce the complexity by avoiding painting the height of the hatch as much as possible. The chimneys of the Mogami/Mikuma are specially designed to be thicker and split into two chimneys due to the installation of 12 cans. The funnel caps are molded parts in the "detached" state. The steam dumping pipe is designed as a separate part to increase the sense of precision, and is a dedicated part for the Mogami/Mikuma. The air supply port in the can room under the chimney is designed to be a dedicated part for the Mogami/Mikuma, which is different from the Suzutani because the Mogami/Mikuma has a smaller air supply port. The machine gun position next to the chimney has special parts to express the unique outline shape of the Mogami/Mikuma. The air intake port behind the chimney (under the searchlight) is arranged in a "C" shape, which is a feature of only the Mogami/Mikuma. The linoleum deck is provided with dedicated parts because the arrangement of air vents and equipment differs from that of Suzutani and Kumano. High-angle gun turret / aerial line prop The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun turret is a dedicated part for Mogami/Mikuma, and the back side of the turret is flat. The aerial line prop installed on the canopy of the 3rd/4th main gun turret is a special part to reproduce the unique shape of each ship. Aft Mast/Aft Bridge/Crane The aft mast has a Y-shaped, backward-sloping top, and is a dedicated part for the Mogami/Mikuma. The crane for the water reconnaissance lift is reproduced with a light hole by slide mold on the side and top, and the hook is also expressed by delicate modeling. The aft bridge has dedicated parts to reproduce multiple small air supply ports on the sides, which is a feature of only the Mogami/Mikuma. Shelter deck / Aircraft working deck The shelter section, where the torpedo tubes are equipped, is sculpted based on the official drawing, including the spare torpedo storage area. The catapult (Kure Type II No. 5) is reproduced realistically with slide molding on the side/top surfaces. Shipboard Aircraft The molding color is gray to improve workability (to prevent damage when cutting the gate). One Type Zero (three-seater) waterborne reconnaissance aircraft and two Type 95 waterborne reconnaissance aircraft are included. Decals included Included are the flag of the warship, the national flag, and the Japanese flag of the aircraft. The product is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting. The scale is 1/700 and the bottom of the ship is not included. The product is composed of conventional (Special Series) molds and new additional molds. Included contents Runner x 43 Assembly instructions x1 Decal x2 Please note that colors may look different from the actual product due to monitor and image resolution issues.
