The aircraft carrier Hiryu, one of the main ships of the Nagumo task force, which attacked the U.S. aircraft carriers in the Battle of Midway, has been re-issued with new parts! The aircraft carrier Hiryu was completed in 1939 at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal as a semi-identical model of the Soryu. The flight deck width near the bridge was enlarged, the bridge was placed on the port side, and the bow deck was further enlarged. At the beginning of the war, she and the Soryu formed the 2nd Air Squadron and participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Indian Ocean campaign. In the Battle of Midway in June 1942, while Akagi, Kaga, and Soryu were disabled by attacks from U.S. aircraft, Hiryu made a single-handed counterattack and destroyed the U.S. aircraft carrier Yorktown, but Hiryu was also hit by fire and died in the battle. The product is based on the appearance at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and at the time of the Midway Island invasion in June 1942. The product is based on the appearance at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and at the time of the Midway Island invasion in June 1942. Newly designed parts are provided to unify the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc., depending on the time of product release, and some parts are also divided in consideration of painting work. The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun A-1 is subdivided into 4 parts, and the modeling resolution has been improved from the existing 2 parts. The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun A-1 Kai-2 with soot shield is subdivided into 4 parts, and the modeling resolution has been improved. The 9-meter cutter on the short boat deck is made of two parts for painting. The 12-meter inner gunboat has a canvas and wheelhouse/mechanical room canopy as separate parts for painting. Each part is painted and assembled and glued afterwards. The chrysanthemum crest on the bow is newly prepared. The boat body and loading area floor are separate parts in a 3-part configuration, and can be assembled after painting to eliminate the need for masking. The 12-meter inner launch can be rendered without canvas. The base of the boat is molded with uneven shapes and light holes for a more precise modeling. Decal with the name of the stern ship (in warship color) has been added. The Type 96 25mm machine gun is now standardized as a two-part part, which reduces the painting/separation work. The hull is a one-piece structure with port and starboard sides. The porthole windows and the overhang of the cannery ventilation channel on the port side are all one-piece parts, but they have a three-dimensional effect. The flight deck is a single-piece structure with delicate wood deck, expansion joints, and gutters on all four sides. Elevators and wind shields are provided as separate parts. The edges of the flight deck are delicately sculpted with a split pattern. Anchor chain deck and short boat deck are delicately sculpted with non-slip split patterns and linoleum hold-downs. The bridge base is a one-piece molded part using a slide mold. The chimney is a two-part structure with the upper and lower parts pasted together, and the parting line is set in a position that cannot be seen. Strip patterns on the floor, such as the high-angle gun turrets, are represented by detailed sculpture. Binocular telescope parts are included on the bridge to increase the sense of precision. The model comes with 15 aircraft, 5 each of Zero-sen Type 21/999 BAKKO/97 BATTLE ATTACK, molded in gray color. The 25mm machine gun is precision molded and comes in two parts for easy painting. Molded color is gray for main parts, bottom plate, ship's aircraft, machine gun parts, etc. Three types of decals are included. One decal for marking of shipboard aircraft is included. Two decals are included for the aft ship's name and the white lines on the deck props. Decals are also included for flight deck markings, warship flags, and the flight deck/allied identification mark (Hinomaru) used during the MI operation in June 1942. The product is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting. The scale is 1/700 and it is an offshore model not including the bottom part of the ship. The product consists of the conventional (Special Series) molds and newly designed additional parts. Included contents Runner x 48 Assembly instructions x1 Decal x4 Please note that colors may look different from the actual product due to monitor and image resolution issues.
