The first ship of the Shohaku class, which is well balanced among the large aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy, is now available with the addition of new parts! The product is based on the motif at the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor that started the Pacific War and afterwards. The electric search and additional machine gun have not been installed, you can reproduce the aspect close to the appearance at the time of completion of the construction. Newly designed parts are prepared to unify the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the time of product release, and some parts are also divided in consideration of the painting work. The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun A1 is subdivided into 4 parts, and the molding resolution is increased from the existing 2 parts. The 12.7cm anti-aircraft gun A1 Kai-2 with soot shield is subdivided into 4 parts, and the molding resolution is improved. The canvas and wheelhouse/machine room canopy of the 12-meter gunboat are made into separate parts for painting. Each part is painted and assembled and glued afterwards. The chrysanthemum crest on the bow is newly prepared. The boat body and loading area floor are separate parts in a 3-part configuration, and can be assembled after painting to eliminate the need for masking. The 12-meter inner launch can be rendered without canvas. The base of the boat is molded with uneven shapes and light holes for a more precise modeling. A pair of port lights, which were previously omitted from the molding, are provided as additional parts. Decal with aft ship's name (in warship color) has been added. The Type 96 25mm machine gun is now standardized as a two-part part that requires less painting/separation work. The antenna parts that stand on the left and right sides of the flight deck have been added as an integrated part that can be easily assembled with existing parts. The hull is constructed with integrated port and starboard sides. The porthole electric circuit installed in preparation for the sailors and the numerous porthole windows are reproduced with delicate sculptures. The flight deck is a one-piece molded part, with detailed carvings depicting the wooden deck covering, non-slip steel deck, expansion joints, etc. The girders behind the flight deck are reproduced. The girder structure behind the flight deck is represented three-dimensionally. Elevators and wind shields are provided as separate parts. The edge of the flight deck is sculpted with a split pattern. The anchor deck and short boat deck are delicately sculpted with a non-slip split pattern. The chimney is a two-part structure with the upper and lower parts pasted together, and the parting line is set in a position that is not easily noticeable. The port side high-angle gun emplacement and machine gun emplacement are separate parts, and the strip pattern on the floor is represented by detailed sculpture. Binocular telescope parts are included on the bridge to increase the sense of precision. 15 aircraft are included, 5 each of Zero fighter 21, 99 bombers, and 97 attack planes. The 25mm machine gun is precision molded and comes in two parts for easy painting. Molded color is gray for main parts, bottom plate, shipboard aircraft, and machine gun parts. Three types of decals are included. Includes 1 decal sheet for marking onboard aircraft. Two decals are included for the white lines on the aft ship's name and prop. Decals are newly prepared for the Shokaku (at the beginning of the war), including flight deck markings and warship flags (new decals for 2024). The product is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting. The scale is 1/700 and is an offshore model not including the bottom of the ship.
