The “Unryu type 2nd ship Amagi” is now available with etching parts! The special series is a 1/700 scale model on the sea, reproduced above the waterline. This ship model has excellent detail reproducibility with detailed parts division and delicate engraving expression. The molded parts of the ship's hull are light green in consideration of the coloring of the outer hull color No. 22. The parts that characterize each ship in the Unryu type are reproduced in separate parts. The bridge aft is extended, and a special part is used to incorporate the base of the tripod mast. The machine gun emplacement, which was added to both port and aft sides of the port center is reproduced in square shape. The flight deck is painted in latex, which tends to be monotonous, but the design is rich in information with a variety of sculptural expressions such as airplane mooring rings, landing brake cables, and expansion joints. Four types of aircraft are included: “Zero-sen Type 52,” “Zero-sen Type 21 bomber,” “Comet,” and “Tenzan,” all of which were owned by the 601st Air Squadron, which existed as a ship-based unit after the completion of construction. The parts are made of etching and are 2 sheets of large size. The parts included are mainly used for two purposes: to add additional expression to parts that cannot be reproduced with molded parts, and to cut some parts and replace them with new parts. Etched parts are used for delicate ship's outfitting that cannot be reproduced with injection parts. Etched parts include handrails, ladders, No. 13 and No. 21 electric searchlights, landing brake cables, elevators, airplane propellers, etc. Paint is required for metal parts. Use instant adhesives or rubber-based adhesives when gluing, depending on the gluing area. (From Fujimi Models website)
