A special edition of the “Toku Series” Yahagi (PLUS Edition)?which comes with precision fitting parts?featuring additional etched parts! (Basic Specifications) ● You can choose from multiple service conditions for this model. ・Depicts the ship’s final appearance before it set sail for Okinawa alongside the Yamato as part of Operation Ten-Ichi in April Showa 20, equipped with 28 single-mount 25mm machine guns. ・The configuration from late June Showa 19, following the Battle of the Marianas, featuring 18 single-mount 25mm machine guns, prior to the modification of the flight deck’s shape. ・The configuration as of the Battle of the Marianas in June Showa 19, when the number of single-mount machine guns is believed not to have been increased. (Structure, Specifications, and Features) ● Faithfully reproduces the modern Agano-class design, which diverged from the tradition of previous Japanese light cruisers. ・The hull consists of left- and right-side split parts. Special parts reproduce the appearance with port windows blocked off and reduced in number compared to the time of completion. ・The external wiring running all around the hull features delicate engraving that captures even the fasteners. ・The deck and each level of the bridge feature sharp, well-defined engraving to depict the metal fasteners holding down the linoleum flooring, as well as the anti-slip and striped patterns of the steel deck. ・The shelter section in front of the bridge is molded as a single piece using a slide mold. The side walls feature intricate engraving and sculpting. ・The main gun turrets are molded using a slide mold to reproduce the windows, ladders, and steel plate seams on the sides and tops. ・The lattice at the top of the funnel is rendered realistically in an open configuration, and the internal flow straightening plates are modeled in three dimensions as separate parts. ・The funnel is designed as a split part for the left and right sides, and the monkey ladder is also meticulously rendered through engraving. ・The steam discharge pipes are each separate parts to highlight the differences from sister ships. ・The triangular truss at the base of the mast is rendered in an open configuration using a slide mold. ・The small cranes located on both sides at the rear of the flight deck are accurately and three-dimensionally reproduced as separate parts. ・The 4.5-meter high-angle rangefinder features a cylindrical arm shape that has been precisely modeled and is included as a dedicated part. ・The Type 22 radar, gangway (stowed), direction-finding antenna, and spare wing storage compartment are all included as separate parts, leaving no detail out. ・The 8-centimeter twin-barreled anti-aircraft gun features the shield and barrel as separate parts, included as newly designed, dedicated components. ・The seaplane recovery crane is reproduced down to the small holes on the sides, enhancing the sense of precision. ・Two Type 0 (three-seat) seaplanes are included as the onboard reconnaissance aircraft. The windshield is molded in clear plastic for a realistic finish. (The Standard version is molded in gray.) ・Two types of decals are included: one sheet for the markings on the onboard reconnaissance seaplanes and one sheet for the ship’s name on the stern and the white lines on the mast. ● Unlike the Standard Version, the PLUS Version includes the following replacement parts: ・25mm Twin Machine Gun: A two-part design featuring precise sculpting and a structure that facilitates paint separation; the mold parts introduced in 2018 are included as standard. ・Binoculars: The bridge’s anti-aircraft command post includes binoculars for reconnaissance and lookout duties, enhancing the sense of realism. ・Type 13 Radar: A new part featuring engraved details on the truss structure and a more accurate representation of the antenna shape. ・Type 21 Radar: Features more delicate engraving than the previously included parts, such as the insulator base for securing the front-facing elements. ・Type 22 Radar: Utilizing a slide mold, the part is molded in the open position, allowing it to be extended into a trumpet-shaped configuration. ・9-Meter Cutter: Split into two parts to accommodate painting; the mounting bracket is a separate part, allowing you to choose between it and the deck-integrated mold (excluding certain areas). ・Chrysanthemum Emblem: A new chrysanthemum emblem for the ship’s bow has been included. ・Naval Lights: Newly included to add detail to areas that were previously omitted. ・Etching parts are included to reproduce even the finest details that are difficult to capture with injection-molded parts. ・The etching parts include ladders, a crane for launching and retrieving seaplanes, Type 13 and Type 21 radar sets, and a catapult. ・Etching part dimensions: 96 × 187 mm *Information current as of October 2026.
