Details
Newly molded full-hull type of the Suzuyama as of October 1944 (Showa 19) (Basic Specifications) ・This is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting. ・Scale is 1/700, featuring a full hull specification including the ship's bottom. ・The product combines molds from the previous (Special Series) with newly added molds. ・The underwater section uses molds designed in 2025, while the above-water section uses molds designed in 2019. (Product Specifications) ・The product depicts the third ship of the Mogami class, Suzuyo, during Operation Sh?-1 (Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944. ・Features a hull cross-section distinct from the Mogami/Mikuma, with dedicated parts for the machine guns and radar equipment modified based on wartime lessons learned since the start of the war. (Hull) ・The hull parts for the late-model Mogami-class ships “Suzuyama and Kumano,” featuring the sloped side (mid-deck level) shape, are dedicated parts. → These are dedicated molded parts with a side cross-section shape different from the early-model Mogami and Mikuma. → The width of the high-angle gun deck is 1.0mm narrower (on the model) than on the Mogami/Mikuma, using dedicated parts. → Outboard electrical lines are molded as a single piece with the hull, depicting a different routing pattern than Mogami/Mikuma ・Portholes reflect the closed configuration implemented based on combat experience → Reproduced using a dedicated mold separate from the Mogami-class heavy cruisers (including Suzuyo as of 1941-1942) ・Parts configuration is split left and right (Bridge) ・Bridge windows are transparent parts for a more realistic finish ・Employed bridge structure parts exclusive to Suzuyo/Kumano, featuring boiler room air intakes on the bridge sides ・Delicately engraved grating surfaces on the AA command post and compass bridge floors ・AA command post includes binocular telescope parts that enhance precision simply by attaching them ・Dedicated parts for the additional forward machine gun nest, reproducing the difference from the Showa 17 configuration ・The forward mast uses a Suzuyama-specific part reproducing the ship's unique height and crossbeam height characteristics →Equipped with one Type 21 radar, two Type 22 radars, and an E27 counter-radar →The Type 22 radars are realistically sculpted in an extremely small size for scale accuracy (Fittings/Central Section) ・Suzuya features narrow funnels characteristic of its 10-boiler configuration (same as Kumano) →Includes dedicated parts distinct from the thicker front flue type seen on Mogami and Mikuma ・Funnel caps molded as “removed” parts ・Steam exhaust pipes designed as separate parts for enhanced precision ・The air intake behind the funnel (below the searchlight) uses a dedicated part for Suzuyama/Kumano. ・The linoleum deck features dedicated parts due to different placements of ventilation pipes and equipment compared to Mogami/Mikuma. ・The 12.7cm twin high-angle gun mounts use dedicated parts for Suzuyama/Kumano, with a protruding part on the underside specific to Suzuyama/Kumano. ・Torpedo tubes are specially developed parts for heavy cruisers, distinct from the existing ones for the aircraft cruiser Mogami. ・Torpedo tube positions can be selected and reproduced in any orientation. → Capable of reproducing both the normal state aligned along the centerline and the firing posture after rotation. ・The shelter section where torpedo tubes are mounted, including the reserve torpedo storage, is three-dimensionally modeled based on official drawings. ・The deck surface features a finely detailed, high-quality engraving reproducing the strip pattern. ・The catapult (Kure Type 2 Model 5) uses a slide mold to realistically reproduce the side and top surfaces. ・The flight deck includes an air intake slightly forward of center, a feature absent on the Mogami and Mikuma. (Fittings/Stern Side) ・Rear mast features a Suzuyama-specific part reproducing the ship's unique crossbeam height. ・Includes a dedicated part with Type 13 radar mounted on the tripod section, differing from its 1942 configuration. ・Rear mast is Suzuyama-specific, reproducing the inclined, Y-shaped top with radar room. ・Features distinct crane parts from Kumano, characterized by precisely engraved, lightweight hole shapes. ・Includes additional machine gun mount parts for the rear bridge and stern ・Dedicated parts reproduce the air intake vents on the rear bridge sides, distinct from those on the Mogami ・Dedicated parts reproduce the unique antenna support pole shapes installed on the 3rd/4th main turret canopies for each ship (Armament/Equipment) ・Main gun barrel elevation is fixed; turret remains rotatable after assembly ・25mm machine guns (triple/twin/single mounts) include precision machine gun parts with separate barrel and mount components → Base color is warship gray, barrel is gunmetal → For painting, each color is applied separately; runners are assembled and glued together for easy color separation (Hull Bottom) ・Hull bottom parts are a single left-right integrated piece ・Side bulges below the waterline are separate parts; bulges above the waterline are molded as part of the hull ・Realistically depicts the shape of the shaft bracket and the curved surface of the eddy plate ・Reproduces the thickness of the rudder mounting area; surface engraving on the balanced twin rudders creates a three-dimensional design ・Engraved drainage ports are depicted on the hull bottom ・The bilge keel is integrated with the bulge; the bulge reproduces the enlarged external shape after performance improvements (Aircraft) ・Includes two Zero-type (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and one Zero-type observation aircraft ・Molded in gray for improved handling (preventing damage during gate cutting) (Included Decals) ・Two types of decals, totaling two sheets, are included ・One sheet contains markings such as the warship flag, national flag, and aircraft sun-and-rising-sun markings →Three sizes are provided for the warship flag, etc. Includes 1/700 scale versions of actual 10-width, 6-width, and 3-width dimensions. → Includes carrier aircraft Hinomaru, friendly identification bands (yellow stripes), etc. Hinomaru includes post-war variants without white border. ・One sheet includes decals for stern ship name, rear mast white line, draft marker, etc. → Stern ship name available in gold and solid navy blue. 【Contents】 Runners x43・Assembly Instructions x2・Decals x2 Finished Size: (Approx.)
