Added full-hull type model based on final appearance in October 1944, produced using dedicated molds 【Basic Specifications】 ・This is an unpainted kit requiring adhesive assembly and painting ・Scale is 1/700, featuring a full-hull specification including the hull bottom ・The product utilizes both existing (Special Series) molds and newly added molds. ・The underwater section uses molds designed in 2025, while the above-water section uses molds designed in 2019. 【Product Specifications】 ・The product depicts the fourth ship of the Mogami class, the “Kumano,” as she appeared during Operation Sh?-1 (the Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944. → Reproduces the distinct hull cross-section shape differing from the first and second ships (Mogami/Mikuma), along with the modified air intake trunk due to reduced boiler rooms. → Includes dedicated parts to represent the differences from the 1942 configuration (post-lessons-learned modifications) featuring upgraded machine guns and radar equipment. → Reproduces differences from the third ship, Suzuyo, such as the aft mast and jib crane shape, using dedicated parts. ● Hull ・Hull parts for the late-model Mogami-class ships “Kumano/Suzuyo” with sloped sides (at the middle deck level) are custom-made → These are custom molded parts with a side section shape different from the early-model Mogami/Mikuma → The width of the high-angle gun deck is 1.0mm narrower (on the model) than Mogami/Mikuma, using dedicated parts → Outboard electrical cables are molded as a single piece with the hull, depicting a different routing pattern than Mogami/Mikuma ・Portholes are depicted closed per wartime training → Reproduced using a dedicated mold separate from the heavy cruisers of the Mogami class (including Kumano from 1941-1942) ・Parts configuration is split left and right ●Bridge ・Bridge windows are transparent parts for a more realistic finish ・Features dedicated bridge structure parts for Kumano/Suzuya, including boiler room air intakes on the bridge sides ・The anti-aircraft command post and compass bridge floors feature finely engraved grating details ・The anti-aircraft command post includes a binocular telescope part that enhances precision when attached ・Dedicated parts recreate the forward-mounted machine gun nest added to the bridge, reflecting the difference from the Showa 17 (1942) configuration ・Suzuya-specific parts for the forward mast accurately reproduce the ship's unique height and crossbeam dimensions →Configuration equipped with one Type 21 radar, two Type 22 radars, and an E27 counter-radar →Type 22 radars feature ultra-small, scale-accurate sizes for realistic modeling ●Fittings/Central Section ・Kumano features the same narrow funnels as Suzuyama, equipped with 10 boilers →Includes dedicated parts distinct from the thicker front smoke ducts of Mogami/Mikuma ・Funnel caps molded as “removed” parts ・Steam exhaust pipes designed as separate parts for enhanced precision ・The air intake behind the funnel (below the searchlight) uses a dedicated part for Kumano/Suzuyo ・The linoleum deck features dedicated parts due to different arrangements of ventilation pipes and equipment compared to Mogami/Mikuma ・The 12.7cm twin high-angle gun mounts use dedicated parts for Kumano/Suzuyo, with a protruding part on the underside specific to Kumano/Suzuyo ・Torpedo tubes are specially developed parts for heavy cruisers, distinct from the existing ones for the aircraft cruiser Mogami. ・Torpedo tube positions can be selected and reproduced in any orientation. → Capable of reproducing both the normal state aligned along the centerline and the firing posture after rotation. ・The shelter section where torpedo tubes are mounted, including the reserve torpedo storage, is three-dimensionally modeled based on official drawings. ・The deck surface features a finely detailed, high-quality engraving reproducing the strip pattern. ・The catapult (Kure Type 2 Model 5) uses a slide mold to realistically reproduce the side and top surfaces. ・The flight deck includes an air intake slightly forward of center, absent on the Mogami and Mikuma. ●Fittings/Stern Side ・The rear mast features a dedicated Kumano part reproducing the ship's unique crossbeam height. ・A dedicated part equips the tripod section with Type 13 radar, differing from its 1942 configuration. ・The rear mast is reproduced in its Kumano-specific form: vertically upright with a Y-shape top, equipped with a radar room. ・Features crane parts distinct from Suzuyo, characterized by precisely engraved, lightweight hole shapes. ・Includes additional machine gun mount parts for the rear bridge and stern ・Dedicated parts reproduce the air intake vents on the rear bridge sides, distinct from those on the Mogami ・Dedicated parts reproduce the unique antenna support pole shapes installed on the 3/4 main turret canopies for each ship ●Fittings/Armament ・Main gun barrels have fixed elevation angles; turrets remain rotatable after assembly ・Precision machine gun parts are included for the 25mm machine guns (triple, twin, single mounts), with separate parts for the barrel and mount → Molded colors: Base is warship gray, barrel is gunmetal → For painting, after applying each color, assemble and glue the runners together for easy color separation ● Hull Bottom ・Hull bottom parts are a single piece structure for both port and starboard sides ・The side bulges below the waterline are separate parts; the bulges above the waterline are integrated with the hull. ・Realistically depicts the shape of the shaft brackets and the curved surfaces of the eddy plates. ・Accurately reproduces the thickness of the rudder mounting area; the surface of the balanced twin rudders features engraving for a three-dimensional design. ・Drainage and intake ports are engraved on the hull bottom. ・The bilge keel is integrated with the bulge, which reproduces the enlarged external shape after performance improvements ●Aircraft ・Includes 2 Zero-type (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and 1 Zero-type observation aircraft ・Molded in gray for improved handling (preventing damage during gate cutting) ●Decals ・Includes 2 types of decals, totaling 3 sheets ・One sheet includes markings such as the Imperial Japanese Navy ensign, national flag, and aircraft sun-and-rising-sun markings → Ensigns provided in three sizes: 1/700 scale representations of actual 10-span, 6-span, and 3-span dimensions → Includes aircraft sun-and-rising-sun markings and friendly identification bands (yellow stripes); sun-and-rising-sun markings include post-war variants without white borders ・One sheet of decals including stern ship name, white line for rear mast, and draft marker →Stern ship name available in gold and solid navy blue 【Contents】 ・Runners x42 ・Assembly instructions x2 ・Decals x2 ・Finished size: approx. 287x36x52mm (Length x Width x Height)
