A special edition of the Imperial Navy Series “Fast Battleship Kongo” featuring etched parts and wooden deck decals! The model is based on the ship's appearance during Operation Sh?-1 (the Battle of Leyte Gulf) in October 1944. The decals include the Hinomaru flags for the ship's aircraft and the naval ensign. The model features a full-hull design that allows for reproduction down to the keel, and includes a display stand for showcasing the finished model. Both the conventional one-piece 25mm twin machine gun parts and the more precise two-piece parts are included. The 25mm machine guns are constructed in two pieces, making it easy to paint the gunmetal-colored barrels and the hull-colored bases separately. Etching parts are included to capture even the finest details that are difficult to reproduce with injection-molded parts. The etching parts include handrails, ladders, boat davits, anchor chains, and mounting brackets. The wooden deck decals have been surface-treated with a laser cutter to reproduce an irregular wood grain pattern. They are pre-cut to fit the kit’s parts and consist of three sheets. The product features a full-hull design that allows for reproduction down to the keel, and includes a display stand for showcasing the completed model. The 25mm twin machine guns include both the conventional one-piece parts and more precise two-piece parts.
