Fujimi 1/700 IJN Series No.51 EX-1 Japanese cruiser Mogami Special Edition (with Etched Parts)

A special edition of the Imperial Navy Series “Aircraft Cruiser Mogami” that includes etched parts! This kit features a full-hull design that allows you to recreate the ship’s hull down to the keel, and comes with a display stand so you can enjoy showing off your finished model. The 25mm twin machine guns are included in both the conventional one-piece design and a more precise two-piece design. The 2-piece 25mm machine guns feature a gunmetal-colored barrel and a hull-colored base, making it easy to paint them separately for accurate reproduction. This kit is modeled after the first ship of the Mogami class, “Mogami,” as it appeared in Showa 18 after being converted into an aircraft cruiser. (Hull) □ The hull is a one-piece structure with the port and starboard sides molded as a single unit. □ The side bulges are separate parts. □ The hull features the reduced profile resulting from the closure of portholes based on wartime lessons, using mold parts specific to the aviation cruiser. (Hull Bottom) □ The hull bottom parts consist of a single integrated piece for both port and starboard sides, with the side bulges above and below the waterline formed as a single unit. □ The shape of the shaft brackets and the curved surface of the eddy plates are realistically rendered. □ The thickness of the rudder mounting is reproduced, and the surface of the balanced twin rudders features engravings for a three-dimensional design. □ Water intake and discharge ports are engraved on the ship’s bottom. □ The bilge keel is integrated with the bulges, and the bulges reproduce the larger external shape adopted after performance improvements. (Upper Deck) □ Single-piece part spanning from bow to stern 　→ Features detailed engravings, such as the linolyum deck fasteners and anti-slip patterns on the steel deck, to enhance realism □ Vent pipes and reels are rendered as integral parts of the deck □ The underside of the flight deck features delicate engravings depicting the anti-slip split pattern (Each Deck) □ Various details are reproduced, including machine gun ammunition boxes, mounting points for single-barrel machine guns, and hose reels □ The shelter deck is a separate part, and the torpedo equipment compartments below are accurately reproduced □ The flight deck is a single-piece part that also depicts the truss girder structure on the underside (Bridge) □ The base of the bridge structure is a single-piece part featuring engravings on all four sides, achieved through the use of a slide mold □ The machine gun emplacement forward of the bridge is rendered as a dedicated part, reflecting its enlarged design (Main Gun Turrets) □ The joints of the heat-shield plates on the sides and tops of the turrets are depicted with meticulous engraving.
