Details
The Yamato, Showa 20 (1945) model, complete with a wave base that realistically depicts its sailing appearance, is now available with etching parts. [Structure & Specification Features] ・Composed of pre-colored parts, allowing the intended color scheme to be reproduced without painting. ・Features snap-fit assembly, enabling construction without adhesive. ・Includes a sea surface base that realistically recreates the ship's appearance while underway, allowing for easy and realistic display. ・Includes etching parts that allow for detailed representation down to the finest elements, difficult to achieve with injection-molded parts. 【Product Features】 ・The product is modeled after the ship's appearance during Operation Ten-Go (the Okinawa suicide attack operation) in April 1945. ・Scale is 1/700. ・Includes a dedicated plastic display sea surface base molded with three-dimensional wake waves emanating from the bow, sides, and propellers. Hull ・Hull is split left/right along the waterline. Molded in a dedicated gray color simulating the warship gray used at Kure Naval Arsenal. ・To depict the numerous blocked portholes, the side hull parts are specialized. Unblocked portholes feature recessed engraving, while blocked ones have raised engraving for a sharp, detailed reproduction. ・The external electrical cables attached to the hull sides are faithfully reproduced, including their fastening points. Armament ・The main guns can elevate and traverse. This achieves both minimal parts and realistic modeling. ・The 46cm main gun barrels are molded open using slide molds. ・Dedicated parts are provided for both the main gun turret roof and the machine gun mounts to reproduce the added mounts on the 2nd and 3rd main gun turrets. ・The secondary guns can traverse; the gun barrel and turret are a single-piece structure. Bridge ・The bridge employs division and slide molds to minimize part seams, integrating components. ・The Type 22 radar units on both sides of the bridge are dedicated parts reproducing their relocated appearance. ・The 15-meter rangefinder and azimuth compass are designed for rotation. ・Dedicated parts are provided for the expanded crew waiting area and enlarged signal station deck at the rear of the bridge. Funnels/Masts ・The funnels are a left-right combination type, integrally representing the steam exhaust pipes, whistle pipes, and monkey ladders. ・The top cap section (lattice) is open, creating a highly realistic, three-dimensional appearance. ・The mast is a two-piece structure, designed to integrate the Type 13 radar installed during this period. Aircraft ・Two aircraft types are included as dedicated dark green color parts. ・One Zero-type (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and one Zero-type observation aircraft. ・Panel lines are recessed. Propellers are precision-molded as a single piece with the fuselage using slide molding. Display Sea Base ・A dedicated plastic molded part shaped to match the Yamato-class waterline profile. (Molded in 2025) ・External dimensions: Length 396mm × Width 134mm × Height (approx.) 17mm. Molded in clear blue. ・Reproduces waves spreading from the bow to the sides, the subdued sea surface along the hull, and the sea surface effects generated by the propulsion units. ・The hull cross-section at the waterline is compatible with both the KanNEXT series and the special Yamato-class series. ・Includes three 1mm thick paper spacers for height adjustment at the bow section. Included Decals ・Pre-cut decals with excellent conformability are included for easy application of detailed coloring. ・Includes waterproof canvas for main and secondary guns, walkway behind the No. 3 main gun, naval ensign, and Hinomaru markings for carrier-based aircraft. ・Also includes the “Non-Reason-Law-Right-Heaven” pennant, the Kikusui mark beside the funnel, and the Vice Admiral's flag of the last commanding officer, Vice Admiral Ito Seiichi. Bonus Parts ・For users seeking greater precision, adhesive bonus parts are included. ・Bonus parts include 78 machine gun ammunition boxes, mast supports, and aerial antenna supports above the secondary gun turrets. Etching Parts ・Two sheets of brass etching parts are included to aid in building a more accurate model. These enable the representation of intricate details on the difficult hull surfaces. ・Etching Size: Sheet 1: (approx.) 62×180mm Sheet 2: (approx.) 53×180mm Both sheets are approximately 0.1mm thick. ・Etching parts include handrails, ladders, cranes, around the funnels, Type 13 radar, Type 21 radar, direction finders, watertight doors, and the imperial crest. ・Box art is an original illustration by artist Kurokawa Takeshi. It depicts the Yamato sailing at high speed through waves under clear skies. ・Molded parts consist of 7 colors total. (Kure Naval Arsenal color, hull bottom color, black, dark gray, gold, dark green, clear blue) ・Finished size: Length 396 × Width 134 × Height 88 mm (including display sea base) 【Contents】 ・Runners ×24 ・Sea surface part ×1 ・Spacers ×3 ・Assembly instructions ×2 ・Decal sheet ×1 ・Photo-etched parts ×2 Please note that colors may appear different from the actual product due to monitor or image resolution variations.
