Upgrade the KanNEXT Akagi! Flight deck marking stickers/decals revised and updated (2026); ship colors now feature molded colors modeled after the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal scheme. (Structure & Specifications) ・Composed of pre-colored parts, allowing you to recreate the intended color scheme without painting. ・Features a snap-fit assembly system, allowing for assembly without glue. ・Full-hull type that reproduces the hull down to the keel. Parts can be separated at the waterline to assemble a floating-on-water version. (Product Features) ・The product is modeled after the ship’s appearance at the time of the Pearl Harbor attack (outbreak of war) in December 1941. ・This product was designed and produced using a different mold from a later release in the same scale but a different series (Special Series). ・Parts are colored in a grayish-brown hue that mimics the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color used in historical records. (Registered with the Yokosuka Naval District; entered Yokosuka Harbor in April?May 1942) ・Composed of 8 pre-painted parts, including the hull bottom, wooden deck, and linoleum flooring. Hull ・The hull is split into left and right halves, divided at the waterline. Molded in a custom gray color mimicking the naval ship color used at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal. ・The portholes on the sides and the external wiring are rendered with sharp, three-dimensional sculpting. ・Fittings and structural elements, such as the fairleaders, are realistically reproduced with sharp sculpting. Bow ・The bow anchor deck features integrated fittings, while the anchor chain and other elements are reproduced with three-dimensional detailing. ・The crane rails beneath the stern flight deck are separate parts, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail even in hard-to-see areas. ・The main and auxiliary supports for the flight deck are reproduced with delicate parts. Flight Deck ・The flight deck is divided into separate parts for the steel sections and the wooden deck. This allows for color separation without the need for painting. →The wooden deck features delicate engraving, providing a realistic appearance even without paint and offering sufficient depth for weatherlining when painted. →The drainage channels, wind screens, and truss structures on the underside surrounding the flight deck are rendered in intricate detail. → The rear section of the old flight deck is modeled as a separate part. ・The elevator features finely sculpted guide rails. Bridge, Mast, and Radio Antenna Masts ・The bridge base is a single-piece molded part produced using a slide mold, balancing ease of assembly with accurate detail reproduction. → The bridge base features delicate sculpting down to the finest details, such as windows and blackboards. ・The upper sections, such as the conning tower, feature a layered structure assembled by stacking parts. ・The tripod-shaped mast is molded as a single piece. ・The four radio antenna masts mounted on both sides are retractable and movable. Armament ・The smokestack features a separate tip molded in black to reproduce the color separation without painting, and the depth of the exhaust ports is also accurately rendered. ・The portside anti-aircraft gun is designed to be rotatable. ・The 20cm guns mounted on both sides of the stern feature superb detailing, even capturing the wrinkles in the canvas. ・A gangway part is included to recreate the ship at anchor (requires a 0.8mm cutout for installation). Hull Bottom ・The hull bottom features a one-piece, integrated structure. →Finished in a dark red color (hull bottom color). →The bilge keel is molded as an integral part of the hull bottom. →Water intake and discharge ports are depicted on the hull bottom with delicate molding. ・The rudder, shaft, shaft bracket, and screw propeller are each precision-molded as separate parts. → The screw propeller is molded in gold. → The rudder, shaft, and bracket are molded in the hull color. Aircraft ・The included aircraft consist of three types carried at the time of the ship’s sinking between December 1941 and June 1942 (Zero Fighter, Type 99 Carrier-Based Dive Bomber, and Type 97 Carrier-Based Torpedo Bomber). The Zero Fighter and Type 99 Carrier-Based Dive Bomber are molded in light gray, and the included Hinomaru marking decals make it easy to reproduce their coloring. ・The Type 97 Carrier-Based Torpedo Bomber is molded in dark green. Each model is a single-piece part, with three of each type included, for a total of nine aircraft. Bonus Parts ・For those seeking greater detail, bonus parts for gluing on or replacing existing parts are included. → A version with a hollowed-out mast tripod is included. → The machine gun ammunition boxes are separate parts; place and glue them around the gun mount to enhance realism. → The landing gear legs are separate parts; the design requires cutting away the original mold and replacing them with these parts. Included Stickers & Decals ・Two types are included: stickers for straight-out-of-the-box assembly and decals for painted builds. ・Three types of stickers are included. →Pre-cut stickers with excellent conformability for easy application of fine details. →All three types are pre-cut for easy application (some bonus parts covering extremely small areas require cutting). →① Stickers featuring flight deck white lines and small areas of linoleum flooring. →① The white line markings have been revised based on further research to accurately represent the patterns (Starting with July 2026 production) →① These stickers also include options for painting the shafts gold, as well as bonus parts for landing guidance lights and side lights. →② Includes stickers specifically for the interiors of ship’s boats (wood-colored) and the canvas sections of the motor launch. →③ Includes the Rising Sun markings displayed on the wings of the aircraft. ・One type of decal is included →Focuses on the white line markings on the flight deck. →The decal measures approximately 190 x 50 mm and is printed in two colors: white and red. →The white line markings have been revised to accurately reflect the pattern based on further research (from July 2026 production runs onward) →The red color tone has been changed to a more subdued shade (From July 2026 production batches onward) ・Box art by Yoshiyuki Takano depicts the Akagi of the First Air Fleet sailing while launching carrier-based aircraft. ・Molded parts consist of 8 colors in total. →Yokosuka Naval Arsenal color, Black, Linoleum color, Wooden deck color, Dark green, Light gray-white, Hull bottom color, Gold ・Assembled Dimensions: Length 374 x Width 68 x Height 63 mm 【Contents】: ・31 sprues ・3 color-printed stickers ・1 decal sheet ・2 assembly manuals *Information current as of April 2026.
