The “Nami” Series Yamato is now available in a special edition, complete with easy-to-apply dedicated wooden deck decals! (Structure and Specifications) ・Composed of pre-colored parts, allowing you to recreate the intended color scheme without painting. ・Features a snap-fit assembly system, so you can build it without using glue. ・Includes a water surface base that makes it easy to display the model realistically, capturing the ship’s appearance as it sails on the open sea. (Product Features) ・Based on the ship during Operation Ten-1 (the Okinawa suicide attack operation) in April 1945. Scale: 1/700. ・The display water base realistically depicts the wake generated by the bow, sides, and propellers. Hull ・The hull is split into left and right halves, divided at the waterline. Molded in a special gray color mimicking the “naval ship color” used at the Kure Naval Arsenal. ・To depict the numerous portlights as closed, the hull side parts have been specially designed; unclosed portlights feature recessed engraving, while closed ones feature raised engraving, creating a sharp contrast for high-fidelity reproduction. ・The external electrical wiring mounted on the hull sides is faithfully reproduced down to the fastening points. Armament ・The main guns are capable of elevation and rotation. Realistic modeling is achieved with a minimal number of parts. ・The direction of the 46cm main gun barrels is set to the open position using a slide mold. ・Dedicated parts are provided for both the main gun turret and the machine gun mount to reproduce the added machine gun positions on the No. 2 and No. 3 main gun turrets. ・The secondary guns are rotatable, with the barrel and turret formed as a single, one-piece structure. Bridge ・The bridge utilizes split and slide molds to minimize part seams, resulting in integrated components. ・The Type 22 radar units on both sides of the bridge are dedicated parts that reproduce their relocated positions. ・The 15-meter rangefinder and compass are designed to be rotatable. ・Dedicated parts are provided for the added crew waiting area and the expanded signal deck at the rear of the bridge. Funnel/Mast ・The funnel is a left-right combination unit, featuring an integrated design that includes the steam discharge pipe, whistle pipe, and monkey ladder. ・The top cap section (grating) is left open, creating a highly realistic, three-dimensional appearance. ・The mast is a two-piece structure, designed with the Type 13 radar?which was installed during this period?integrated into the unit.
