The “Kan NEXT” Series Yamato is here in a special edition, complete with dedicated wooden deck decals that are easy to apply! Designed with a snap-fit system that requires no adhesive, this series stands apart from conventional kits. It significantly lowers the barrier to entry for ship modeling, allowing you to easily enjoy creating realistic models. The model is based on the ship’s final appearance during Operation Ten-1 in April, Showa 20. Compared to its appearance during Operation Sh?-1 in Showa 19, this version features additional triple-barreled machine guns on both port and starboard sides, and the removal of the antenna mast at the stern. [Hull and Bottom] The hull is split into left and right halves, divided at the waterline. It is molded in a custom gray color that mimics the “naval ship color” used at the Kure Naval Arsenal. To accurately depict the numerous port windows that were sealed shut, unsealed windows are recessed while sealed windows are raised, creating a sharp contrast for a highly detailed reproduction. The external wiring mounted on the sides is faithfully reproduced, right down to the fasteners. The hull bottom is a single-piece part created using a slide mold, eliminating the need for seam line processing. The bulbous bow at the ship’s bow is realistically reproduced with three-dimensional modeling. The rudder is rendered in a square shape, differing from that of the third ship in the class, the Shinano. The surface of the rudder is highly detailed, even depicting the seams of the steel plates. [Main Guns] The main guns are capable of elevation and traverse. The design achieves both a minimal number of parts and realistic modeling. The 46-centimeter main gun barrel is positioned in the open firing position using a slide mold. Dedicated parts are provided for both the main gun turret and the machine gun mount to reproduce the added machine gun positions on the turrets of the No. 2 and No. 3 main guns. The secondary guns are capable of traverse, and the barrel and turret are integrated into a single-piece structure. [Bridge] The bridge employs split and slide molds to minimize visible part seams, resulting in an integrated structure. The Type 22 radar units on both sides of the bridge are dedicated parts designed to reproduce their relocated positions. The 15-meter rangefinder and compass are designed to be rotatable. Dedicated parts are provided for the added crew waiting area and the expanded signal deck at the rear of the bridge. [Funnel & Mast] The funnel is a left-right combination design, featuring a single-piece representation that includes the steam discharge pipe, whistle pipe, and monkey ladder. The top cap section (grating) is left open, creating a highly realistic model with a sense of depth. The mast is a two-piece structure, designed with the Type 13 radar?which was mounted during this period?integrated into the design. [Aircraft] Two types of aircraft are included as dedicated dark green color parts. One Zero-type (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and one Zero-type observation aircraft are included. The panel lines are recessed, and the propellers are molded as a single piece with the fuselage using a slide mold for precise detail. [Wooden Deck Decals] □These custom parts were developed specifically to enhance the precision of your 1/700 scale snap-fit model of the Imperial Japanese Navy battleship *Yamato*.
