In February 1950, Volkswagen's chief executive Heinrich Nordhoff at the time announced a convenient transporter called type 2. Type 2, which is made by combining the beetle's feet and a box-shaped body, is a model that became the best seller after Beetle.

Starting from commercial vehicles called delivery vans in March 1950, Type 2 will continue to add a variety of variation models.

Combination which gained popularity as a convenient cargo carrier car, micro / bus samba is a model which is useful not only for personal use but also for transportation and business use.

The first type 2 made from 1950 to 1966 is a popular model still helping with the front windows divided into two pieces and rich in body variations.
