The original prototype was created by Shinobu Matsumura, a leading authority on natural history and biological sculpture. Based on promotional stills from the 1954 film *Godzilla*, this piece reconstructs and reimagines the essence of Godzilla as portrayed over the past 70 years. Rather than simply recreating the suit or CGI versions, this kit brings to life in three dimensions the appearance of a prehistoric giant creature emerging in Tokyo. The base features the collapsed Nikkatsu Theater building and the JNR elevated railway tracks at its feet, while the pose?with Godzilla clamping down on a train?enhances the sense of realism. Matsumura’s soul-infused sculptural work is condensed into a fixed-pose plastic kit spread across a total of 8 sprues. The organic yet intricate surface details are faithfully reproduced in their entirety from the original prototype. Despite the complex segmentation, the structure?which involves attaching surface parts to a base body, a method adopted in previously released series?ensures sturdiness. Parts that are typically challenging to align in this method are molded with high precision, and the design ensures that seam lines are barely noticeable. The assembly process itself is enjoyable, and once completed, the model stands as a display-worthy ornament even in its unpainted, out-of-the-box state.
