Metal pitot tube for sharp finish [About the actual aircraft.] The T-33 Shooting Star was a jet trainer aircraft that was mainly operated by the U.S. Air Force from 1948 after World War II. The T-33 Shooting Star was also used by the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force and was a familiar aircraft in Japanese skies. It was powered by a single Allison J33-A-35 centrifugal turbojet engine. It boasted a maximum speed of Mach 0.8 without tip tanks or guise armament. It adopted a tandem double-seat fuselage design with straight wings. By 1959, the number of aircraft produced exceeded 6,500, and it became a best-selling aircraft used in more than 30 countries around the world. It was also produced under license in Japan, and was the first jet aircraft produced under license in Japan after the war. [About the model.] This 1/72 scale plastic model kit reproduces the T-33A, a jet trainer aircraft operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, and the T-33A No. 221, which was specially equipped with a long pitot tube on the nose and called the "T-33A Kai". The kit is reproduced in an easy-to-assemble parts configuration and measures approximately 150mm in overall length. The fuselage shape with straight wings is reproduced firmly. In addition, delicate expressions such as panel lines enhance the sense of realism. The airbrakes can be assembled with the option of opening or closing. In addition to the delicate reproduction of the legs, the storage compartment cannot be overlooked. The kit also includes a metal pitot tube. The metal parts with delicate shapes are well represented, and the model will be finished sharply. The markings are those of No. 221, which was used by the Flight Development Experimental Wing at the Gifu Air Base and is still on display at the Gifu-Kamigahara Air and Space Museum. [Main Features.] Reproduction of the T-33A Kai jet trainer operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force in 1/72 scale. The finished length is approximately 150mm. Pitot tube is made of metal parts. Markings reproduce the markings of the T-33 Kai, No. 221 used in the Flight Development Experimental Wing
