Plastic Model Kit [Scale] 1/48 [Assembled Size] Length: approx. 190 mm ○ Build the Type 32?whose distinctive wing design is its main appeal?using Eduard’s masterful parts [About the Real Aircraft] The Zero carrier-based fighter was the main fighter aircraft operated by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Pacific War. Combined with the pilots’ exceptional skill, its outstanding maneuverability and range overwhelmed and astonished the U.S. military in the early stages of the war. Deployment began in 1940. Improvements continued throughout the war, and it remained in active service until the end of the war. Among the many variants developed, the A6M3 model featured square-shaped wingtips, achieved by removing the folding sections at the wing tips. It was officially adopted in January of Sh?wa 18 as the Zero-type Carrier-Based Fighter Model 32. It was powered by a Sh?ei Type 21 engine. It was armed with two 20mm machine guns mounted in the wings and two 7.7mm machine guns in the nose. It was also operated by the 204th Naval Air Group, which had advanced to Rabaul, where it continued to fight valiantly. [About the Model] This plastic model assembly kit reproduces the Zero, the Imperial Japanese Navy’s main carrier-based fighter that saw action in the Pacific War, at a 1/48 scale. It depicts the A6M3 (Type 32), featuring square-shaped wingtips. The parts are manufactured by Eduard, a company renowned for its sharp, precise finish. The model’s appeal lies in Eduard’s signature attention to detail?from the shapes of the fuselage and wings to the rendering of panel lines and the texture of the wing surfaces. The Saiki engine in the nose is meticulously modeled, and the mechanical details of the cylinders and connecting rods are not to be missed. The shape of the engine cowling is also accurately reproduced. The cockpit features detailed modeling of the floor and side walls, as well as the seat and instrument panel. The set includes three types of markings: those for T-2 No. 190 of the 204th Naval Air Group?which served as the core unit of the land-based Zero fighter squadron in the Solomon Islands theater?as well as No. 188 and No. 197. All three aircraft feature dark green emergency camouflage on their upper surfaces, making it a pleasure to put your painting skills to the test.
