[About the actual machine]
The D-9 responded to the lack of high altitude performance by replacing the engine with a liquid-cooled engine based on the Fw190 of Focke-Wulf, a German fighter equipped with an air-cooled engine.
Designed by Dr. Kurt Tank, the engine is equipped with a liquid-cooled 12-cylinder Jumo213A.
The engine cooling radiator was equipped with a circular annular radiator on the front and nose of the engine, and at first glance it featured a style that appeared to be equipped with an air-cooled engine.
Mass production began in the summer of 1944.
It was sequentially deployed to each unit.
Called Dora's nickname, his superior climbing power and speed proved to be useful in the latter half of the war.
[About the model]
The model is a 1/144 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Focke-Wulf Fw190 D-9 known as the best piston engine fighter operated by the German army in World War II.
In addition to the characteristic style with a long nose, also called the long nose, the delicate expression of the panel line has been fully reproduced.
The overall length is about 7cm.
The kit includes parts for two kits.
The canopy is available in different shapes depending on the machine to be finished.
The main landing gear is delicately reproduced, such as pedestals, leg covers, and tires, and the finish is mechanical.
Also, three types of markings are set.
Lieutenant Hans Doltemann from the 54th Fighter Wing and 2 from the 26th Fighter Wing.
The decals are made by high quality Italian cultographs.
It is a kit that allows you to easily enjoy the characteristic aircraft.
