Plastic Aircraft Model Assembly Kit Reproduction of early type painting in white color About the actual aircraft:. The prototype T1F2 successfully made its first flight on January 19, 1958. In 1959, the model equipped with the Orphaix engine was formalized as the T-1A, and mass production was decided upon. The first mass-produced T-1A was delivered in September 1960, and was deployed mainly to the 13th Flying Instruction Group, where it was used to train new pilots. The T-1 was the first jet trainer developed in Japan after World War II. The Air Self-Defense Force needed a jet for use as a medium trainer for its postwar pilot training program. Therefore, the decision was made to develop a domestically produced jet trainer. Developed by Fuji Heavy Industries, the aircraft had an ambitious design with a tandem layout seat arrangement and a retracted wing. The first prototype successfully completed its first flight in 1958. Furthermore, the domestically produced turbojet engine, J3, was completed. When mass production began at Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, the T-1 engine was also converted to the domestically produced J3. The T-1 equipped with this engine was named the T-1B, and 20 were produced and deployed between 1962 and 1963. About the model:. This 1/72 scale plastic model kit reproduces the T-1B, a domestically produced jet trainer aircraft operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. The distinctive fuselage shape and design, including the cockpit with retracted wings and a tandem layout double-seat configuration, are reproduced in the finished length of approximately 168mm. In addition to the panel lines, details such as the legs and cockpit interior are also modeled in detail. You can build this indispensable aircraft in the history of Japanese aviation with your own hands. This kit features the T-1B with a domestically produced engine. In the early stages of introduction, the aircraft was unpainted natural metal, but around 1965, it was painted all over in white to prevent salt damage. The model reproduces the white paint period. Markings of two aircraft from the 13th Flying Training Wing (Ashiya Air Base) around 1965 and the experimental squadron (Gifu Air Base) No. 857 in 1985 are reproduced with decals made by Cartograf. Reproduce the jet trainer aircraft of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, T-1B in 1/72 scale. Finished overall length is approximately 168mm Accurately modeled fuselage shape with retractable wings Reproduce the markings of the aircraft painted white, three types.
