Newly developed pylon and intensifier tanks as well as weapon parts are included in the set for a powerful finish! This plastic model assembly kit reproduces the F/A-18A, a fighter aircraft operated by the Royal Australian Air Force in 1/144 scale. The pylon is newly developed in this kit. Armament parts are also included. About the actual aircraft: The F/A-18 Hornet is a ship-based fighter developed and operated by the U.S. Navy. The initial type F/A-18A/B was produced from 1979, and was deployed by the Marine Corps prior to the U.S. Navy starting in 1980. It is equipped with two GE F404-GE-400 turbofan engines. It boasted a maximum speed of Mach 1.7. The aircraft was armed with a single M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon as a fixed armament. It was capable of operating various air-to-air, air-to-surface, and air-to-ship missiles. It was deployed not only in the United States but also in other countries around the world. The Royal Australian Air Force was one of them. 55 single-seat F/A-18As and 16 double-seat F/A-18Bs were produced and operated for the Royal Australian Air Force. About the model: The model is a plastic model assembly kit of the F/A-18 Hornet, the U.S. Navy's masterpiece ship-based fighter in 1/144 scale. Among the F/A-18s, the single-seat A type is modeled. The sharp fuselage shape of the Hornet is realistically modeled in a reasonable size of approximately 110mm in finished length. The parts are made by EF Toys and the number of parts is kept to a minimum, allowing for easy and enjoyable assembly. This kit also includes resin pylon parts and tank expansion tank parts. In addition, the armament mounted on the pylons is also set with parts from the Platz Weapon Set for current aircraft. The pylons can be combined to recreate the powerful appearance of a fully equipped aircraft. The markings reproduce the aircraft markings of the 77th Squadron of the 81st Wing of the Royal Australian Air Force, which came to Japan to participate in the joint Australia-Japan training "Bushido Guardian 19" held in Hokkaido in 2019. Included are both special and standard paint markings commemorating the 77th anniversary of the squadron's founding. This kit is a must-have addition to your Hornet collection.
