The Series 103 is a DC commuter train that debuted in 1963 (Showa 38) during the Japan National Railways (JNR) era. It began revenue service on the Keihin-Tohoku Line in 1965, operating between Omiya Station and Yokohama Station, and also ran on the Negishi Line as far as Isogo Station.
