[The pinnacle machine embodying Yamaha's technology] The FZR750R is considered the pure replica of Yamaha's 4-stroke works machine, the YZF750. Developed specifically for racing, its compact, high-revving 5-valve DOHC inline-4 engine pursued maximum output. This included adopting titanium connecting rods, enlarging intake and exhaust ports, and equipping the exhaust section with EXUP to enhance exhaust efficiency. The frame and swingarm were constructed as an aluminum delta box type, while the rear featured racing-spec suspension including a highly regarded Ohlins shock unit. Furthermore, the fairing, sharing the same form as the YZF, was made from expensive fiberglass, loading it with high-quality, high-performance equipment.
