The Flaksaur, officially designated the 8-ton half-track Sd.Kfz.7/2, was one such vehicle. The 8-ton half-track was a representative German military half-track, widely used for tasks like towing the famous 88mm gun. Its chassis was repurposed to mount a 3.7cm anti-aircraft machine gun. Production began in 1943, and armor plates were later added to the driver's compartment and radiator front to enhance protection. The 3.7cm anti-aircraft gun had a rapid rate of fire of 160 rounds per minute.
