The RA271, which appeared at the German Grand Prix in August, drew attention for its groundbreaking design featuring a transversely mounted 1.5-liter 60-degree V12 engine. The following year, it evolved into the RA272. At the Mexican Grand Prix, the final race for 1.5-liter F1 cars, it delivered Honda's historic first F1 victory, driven by Richie Ginther. In 1966, Honda introduced the RA273 for the new 3-liter engine era of Formula One. It featured a lightweight monocoque frame primarily constructed from high-tensile aluminum panels. Its 90-degree V12 RA273E engine was hailed as the most powerful unit of its time. The 1966 season saw both R. Ginsberg and Ronnie Bucknam drive the car in the final three races after the Italian GP. The following year, 1967, saw the legendary John Surtees drive it in the first six races. At the season-opening South African GP, it achieved a podium finish with a third-place result. 【 Model Specifications 】 ● 1/12 scale plastic model assembly kit.
