(See the second image.) [A Carnivorous Dinosaur Found in Fukui, Crossing 120 Million Years of Time] Dinosaurs once roamed the Earth. Fossils found around the world hold the secrets to the magnificent drama of life that unfolded on Earth hundreds of millions of years ago. Thanks to advances in the natural sciences, we are gradually uncovering the true nature of these once-mysterious creatures. Experience the romance of this era through this model. 《 About Fukuiraptor 》 “Fukuiraptor,” a new species of carnivorous dinosaur discovered for the first time in Japan, was found in Fukui Prefecture?a region known for its dinosaur fossil excavations and research and often referred to as the “Kingdom of Dinosaurs.” Discovered in the “Kitadani Formation” of the Tedori Group?a geological stratum dating back approximately 120 million years?in Katsuyama City, northeastern Fukui Prefecture, this dinosaur was officially named “Fukuiraptor kitadaniensis” in 2000. “Fukuiraptor” means “predator of Fukui,” while “kitadaniensis” means “from the Kitadani Formation.” Although its body length is approximately 4.7 meters, it is believed that a fully grown Fukuiraptor would have been even larger. Based on features such as its large claws on the forelimbs, sharp teeth, and long hind legs?which suggest high agility?it is thought to have preyed on herbivorous dinosaurs like Fukuisaurus that inhabited the same region. 《 Scale Model Based on Scientific Evidence 》 This model is a precision scale model developed based on research by dinosaur experts and specialized institutions. The natural pose that conveys the skeletal structure and the texture of the skin have been modeled based on scientific evidence. Its appeal lies in the design, which focuses on “realism” that conveys a sense of dynamism and vitality. In cooperation with: Dinosaur Research Institute Co., Ltd. Prototype design by: Kazunari Araki Supervised by: Soki Hattori (Associate Professor, Fukui Prefectural University; Researcher, Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum) 《 Click-Lock Series: Assemble Without Adhesive 》 The Click-Lock Series features authentic designs that can be easily assembled simply by snapping the parts together. Thanks to a clever division of parts that minimizes the number of components and precision molding technology, you can create a model that feels incredibly lifelike. 《 What Color Were Dinosaurs? Enjoy Dinosaur Research at 1/35 Scale! 》 Since fossils do not reveal body color, we do not know exactly what color Fukuiraptor was. You might try painting it by imagining the environment in which dinosaurs lived, using living creatures on Earth today as a reference, or consulting field guides and the internet. We recommend the wide variety of Tamiya Colors (sold separately) for painting. 【 Model Specifications 】 ★ This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit. ★ Total length when completed: approx. 118 mm. ★ Snap-fit assembly requires no glue. ★ The head parts are molded using a slide mold.
