Experience the romance of this era through this model. 《 About Fukuisaurus 》 “Fukuisaurus” was a herbivorous dinosaur that lived approximately 120 million years ago during the Early Cretaceous period. Its fossils were excavated in Katsuyama City, Fukui Prefecture?a region renowned for dinosaur fossil excavations and research?and it became the first dinosaur in Japan to have its complete skeleton reconstructed. In 2003, it was officially recognized as a new species and given the scientific name “Fukuisaurus tetriensis.” “Fukuisaurus” means “Fukui lizard,” while “tetriensis” derives from the Kitadani Formation of the Tetori Group?the stratum where the fossils were discovered?and signifies “from the Tetori Formation.” Adult specimens reached a total length of about 5.2 meters. While primarily bipedal, it appears they occasionally walked on all fours, using their forelimbs for support.
