Plastic model (uncolored) [Scale] 1/12 [Size] approx. 12.5cm in length [Material] resin (PS) The Stinger is a portable surface-to-air missile, commonly known as the “Stinger”, which was adopted by the U.S. military in 1981. Equipped with a friendly-enemy identification device to prevent misfires, it secured mobility and tracking capabilities as well as omni-directional shooting capability that enables attacks from outside the rear of enemy aircraft. Its high hit rate has earned it a place in the Guinness Book of World Records (2011). During the Cold War, the Stinger was supplied to the Afghan mujahidin and was feared as the “Hind killer” by the opposing Soviet forces. This kit is not only a reproduction of the Stinger missile launcher, but also a complete set of operational equipment. Includes training equipment, thermal vision for night and bad weather, and IFF equipment. In order to enhance reproducibility, materials other than PS resin are used, such as clear parts, vinyl tubing for wiring, rubber bands, and water transfer decals.
