Product size Length: approx. 9cm About Kar98k type The Kar98k is a bolt-action rifle that was officially adopted by Germany in 1935. The Kar stands for carabiner (carbine) and k for Kurz (short), and was developed as a shortened version of its predecessor, the Gew98. The bolt-action mechanism of the Gew98, known as the "Mauser action," influenced the design of almost all bolt-action guns of later generations. The Kar98k, equipped with such an action, was a highly acclaimed bolt-action rifle during WW2 as a result of a combination of the ease of handling due to the shortened version and Germany's industrial engineering capabilities. *All photos are prototypes.
