[About the M60E3 type] The M60E3 is an improved version of the M60, a general-purpose machine gun developed by the United States after World War II. The E3 version was developed to solve these problems. The weight was reduced and the handle and bipod positions were improved, but it was eventually replaced by the more reliable M240 machine gun. However, its performance was highly regarded by some, and the Navy SEALs and others continued to operate this machine gun even after the M240 was introduced.
