About the AK74M & GP25 Type The 5.45mm caliber rifle “AK74M” was standardized by the Soviet Union in the late Cold War era. This modernized model features a folding resin stock and handguard, with side rails enabling the attachment of various optical devices. Additionally, the GP25 underbarrel grenade launcher, one of the AK attachments, uses caseless 40mm grenades. It has been widely used in combat since the Afghanistan conflict as equipment significantly enhancing infantry firepower. Its distinctive cylindrical form and the style of being mounted under the barrel have become one of the iconic looks of the AK series.
