X PLUS presents a 1/8 scale plastic model kit of "Maschinenmensch" (*1). A faithful reproduction of the mechanical human "Maria" sculpted and created by Walter Schulze-Mittendorf in the German silent film "Metropolis," produced by Fritz Lang and released in 1927 ("The mediator between brain and hand must be the heart," is the eternal theme of the film). A gynoid (*2) created by the scientist Rotwang, she is reminiscent of her former lover Helle, who later became the leader of her people, "Maria". (The figure is posed in its most iconic pose, in awe of the work (German actress Brigitte Helm plays both Hel and Maria). The base features a chair, an important icon in the scene, to recreate the key visual from the startup. (The back of the chair has a secret sculpture.) The Maschinenmensch is perhaps one of the first and most iconic robots ever depicted on film. The first film to be included in UNESCO's Memory of the World, it has had a profound influence on subsequent feature films, television, and robot technology. We are proud to present the great creation of Rotwang. *1...German for [machine man] *2...female android
